Prince Harry Isn’t Using Royal Surname Mountbatten-Windsor

  • Prince Harry seems to have ditched his royal last name, Mountbatten-Windsor.
  • He’s still going by Duke of Sussex, though.

Ever since announcing that they were leaving the royal family back in January, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been slowly easing into doing their own thing—the couple moved from the Commonwealth country of Canada to Los Angeles, Meghan narrated a Disney+ elephant movie, and they closed down their Sussex Royal brand. But now it looks like Harry might want to distance himself even further from his family, cause apparently he’s dropping his royal surname.

The Daily Mail reports that Harry didn’t use his last name—which is Mountbatten Windsor, for those of you non-royal nerds who didn’t know—while registering his new eco-friendly tourism firm Travalyst. According to the outlet, not only did Harry forgo his last name, but he also didn’t include his former HRH title. He instead just listed himself as “Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex,” which, IMO, is still less than casual.

It’s not totally clear if Harry wants to drop his surname altogether or just didn’t use it in this one instance, but it seems as though whatever the reason, it doesn’t have anything to do with Harry being upset with his family. A source recently shared that Harry “misses his family,” while another shared that Harry and Meghan are “in a better space” with the royal fam now and that “the family is getting through it.” No word on what the royal family thinks of him potentially dropping their surname, though!

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
