‘Search Party’ Season 4 Spoilers, Date, News

Calling all slacker sleuths, you’ve been gifted with not one but two new seasons of Search Party on HBO Max. There’s just one tiny complication: Search Party season 4 is not out yet. The millennial dark comedy returned with season 3 after a two-year hiatus and shook us to our core with a cliffhanger ending. And now we’re expected to wait?! To calm your nerves and mine, here’s everything we do know about the next season of Search Party.

So you’re telling me season 4 is happening?

I am indeed. While not a lot of information about Search Party season 4 is known, its existence is, at the very least, not an enigma. The show was renewed for two additional seasons in 2019 along with the announcement that it would be moving to HBO’s streaming service.

Interesting, but, was S4 actually filmed and stuff?

Yes! Search Party writer Starlee Kine confirmed on Twitter that season 4 was filmed in 2019 and co-creator Charles Rogers confirmed that season 4 already wrapped—so no need to worry that production was delayed or anything because of *gestures wildly* all this.

Then why TF isn’t it on HBO Max already? When’s it coming?

Your guess is as good as mine. HBO hasn’t made any kind of official announcement about when Search Party season 4 will hit our screens. Take it as a blessing in disguise! This means there’s still new television to look forward to. It’s just out there, in the ether, probably being edited or something.

Do you know what it’s about? I am literally begging.

[Spoilers for the end of season 3 ahead — I’ll keep it vague but maybe skip if you haven’t seen!] Well, according to an interview with Rogers it will be the darkest, funniest, and most extreme season yet, and will have a lot to do with Cole Escola’s stalker character. “That’s a whole new can of worms,” Rogers told TV Insider.

How am I supposed to pass the time with all of this info?!

Well, if that isn’t the eternal question. Have you checked out the rest of what’s on HBO Max, like Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You, or Perry Mason? What about that Anna Kendrick’s show, Love Life? You could also check out the independent comedy Fort Tilden, which is from the same creators and has a lot of the same cast.
