Ted Bundy Documentaries – Ted Bundy Movies to Watch

It’s been more than 30 years since Ted Bundy was executed after being convicted of the deaths of at least 30 women, but now that more and more people are getting into true crime, it seems like he’s everywhere. Between Zac Efron taking on the role of Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and Netflix’s Confessions of a Killer series, Bundy and his murders are making the rounds all over again.

It’s easy to see why. Bundy’s crimes were so heinous that it’s pretty hard to imagine how a human could have committed them — at the same time, maintaining relationships, going to work, and appearing like a totally normal person on the outside while hiding so much. And if you’re into the true crime scene at all, you already know that Bundy frequently comes up in podcasts and docuseries, even when discussing other killers. His impact was that big, and not in a good way.

Whether Bundy himself fascinates you or you’re new to the true crime world and want to find out what all the conversation is about, here are all the Ted Bundy documentaries that you can’t miss.

Ted Bundy: Falling For A Killer

The newest documentary might also end up being one of the most interesting. Out January 31 on Amazon Prime, this series focuses on Bundy’s survivors — including Elizabeth Kendall, who was portrayed by Lily Collins in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. It’s definitely a different take on Bundy, especially if you’re interested in how the survivors he victimized are doing today.

Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes

Currently streaming on Netflix, this docu-series was released in 2019 and features footage and interviews with Bundy himself before his death. Seeing Bundy discuss his crimes himself — along with expert commentary — is very chilling.

Ted Bundy: Serial Monster

Originally released in 2018, this documentary covered Bundy’s murders in the ‘70s and ‘80s. This two night documentary aired on the ReelzChannel, and frequently re-airs on the network.

Any true crime fan knows that Investigation Discovery is one of the channels to keep an eye on when it comes to documentaries like this, and their take on Bundy is definitely an interesting one. This documentary follows how he was caught and then convicted.

The Hunt For Ted Bundy

This ID Channel documentary was released in 2015 and follows one of the original investigators on Bundy’s case as he shares his research and revisits Bundy’s crimes and arrest, years later. It includes the first interview with detective Bob Keppel’s wife, too, and also features more files from Keppel’s investigation.

Ted Bundy: The Mind of a Killer

This documentary from the Biography Channel is pretty basic — it covers Bundy’s case from start to finish. Although it’s a bit dated, it’s a good place to start if you’re not too familiar with Bundy’s crimes. And best of all, the full thing is available to watch on YouTube.

20/20 Episode

Yep, a full episode based on Bundy’s crimes. It includes new interviews and footage that haven’t been seen anywhere else. The full episode is currently streaming on Hulu.
