A GENERAL CARD FOR EVERYONE: FOUR OF SWORDS

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

As we enter fall, we start to slow down, cozy up, and reflect on the year so far. The Four of Swords is like a cosmic time-out, urging you to chill, rest, and relax. Less is more this week. Take the time to properly recharge your batteries and boost your spirits. Do things that soothe and comfort you. Seek out healing activities. Eat well. This little pause will set you up for a busy, positive, active season ahead.

ARIES: EIGHT OF SWORDS

Stop doing the same things over and over and expecting to get different results. You’re in danger of getting stuck, Aries, and you need to shake things up. The Eight of Swords reveals the cause of this blockage is an internal anxiety—but you’re covering it up by projecting as an exterior obstacle. It’s not real—reflect on your self-doubt and let it go. You’re more than ready.

TAURUS: THE HANGED MAN

Limbo sucks, but The Hanged Man shows that you’re stuck here for a moment, so you may as well stop pushing, take a breather, and rest. Take the time to think, and you’ll likely find new and surprising way to overcome this obstacle. Look at everything from new angles, and you’ll find a way out soon.

GEMINI: THE EMPEROR

the emperor tarot

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

You’re flexible, Gemini, and you tend to react quickly to whatever life brings you each day. Planning isn’t fun, I get it, but The Emperor is asking you to get to work and clarify what you’re doing. What do you want? How are you going to achieve it? What’s the next step? A little bit of strategizing can get you further than you think is possible.

CANCER: JUSTICE

justice

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

You never, ever forget when someone does you wrong, Cancer. You can seethe for YEARS over even trivial slights. Revenge is a dish you can serve hot or cold, but I urge you to resist paying anyone back (even if they deserve it). Justice says that karma has seen it ALL, and will make sure everyone gets what they deserve. You don’t need to get involved. Get on with your own life, and let karma take care of the rest.

LEO: EIGHT OF COINS

eight of coins tarot

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

Don’t give up, Leo! If only you could see how close you are to success. This is the dark before the dawn, so keep moving. The Eight of Coins urges you to work hard, persevere, and persist. Sometimes, it’s about just putting one foot in front of the other. The finish line is close, even if you can’t see it yet. Keep going!

VIRGO: THREE OF COINS

three of coins tarot

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

You’re admired and respected because you put in the work—and you always deliver. You’re one of the hardest-working signs of the zodiac! The Three of Coins says that it’s time to get your rewards. Someone is in a position to notice your success, so make sure you’re visible, front and center. Put yourself in opportunity’s pathway!

LIBRA: KNIGHT OF SWORDS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

You don’t like conflict, Libra. You avoid confrontations—you’d much rather diplomatically compromise. All very admirable, but sometimes, conflict has to be faced head-on. It’s one of those weeks, says the fiery Knight of Swords, so take a deep breath and say what you need to say. Be direct and concise. Work through this, and stay focused on hearing each other out. This serves a purpose.

SCORPIO: DEATH

death tarot

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

Death. It’s one of your favorite topics, actually, as your sign and planet (Pluto) are all about life, death, and regeneration. You’re intellectually stimulated by the idea of death, and not to be tooooo morbid (although is anything too morbid for a Scorpio?), maybe you should go ahead and think about death this week. Light a candle for those you’ve lost. Look at old photos and dwell on favorite memories. Remember loved ones who’ve passed on to keep their memories with you.

SAGITTARIUS: KNIGHT OF WANDS

knight of wands tarot

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

The Knight of Wands is your tarot card, representing fire signs, so expect to be feeling very Sagittarius-y this week. What does that mean? Heck, anything goes! Spontaneous invitations, reckless adventures, philosophical discussions about life and the universe, horseback riding, partying hard. Do all your fave things this week, Sag, because sometimes you just gotta do you!

CAPRICORN: SIX OF WANDS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

Cap, you’re on a roll! Everything you try is working out perfectly. The Six of Wands is a victory card, giving you success and prosperity all week. Put this magic to good use! Work on things that matter, especially long-term projects. You’re on fire, bb.

AQUARIUS: FIVE OF COINS

five of coins tarot

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

You’ve been dwelling on a loss that happened a long time ago. The emotional echoes resurface sometimes, and you can feel that pain all over again. Aquarius, it’s good to reflect on hard times, but not for too long. Take a deep breath and remember that you’re healing. Life is bringing you so much to look forward to. Be optimistic and keep moving onwards.

PISCES: EIGHT OF CUPS

eight of cups

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

The Eight of Cups is a signal to move on from a disappointment. You’ve been suppressing or ignoring it, trying to pretend that everything’s fine. But deep down, Pisces, you know this hasn’t worked out. That’s okay! This could all be preparation for something bigger and better. Acknowledge what hasn’t worked, cut ties, and shift your energy elsewhere.
