Chloe x Halle Are the Faces of Fendi’s New “Peekaboo” Campaign

Chloe x Halle have been getting a LOT of use out of their tennis court lately. The sisters used it as a set when performed their song “Do It” on Today and now it also served as the backdrop for their gorgeous new Fendi campaign, which was announced on Wednesday.

In a statement, it was the first time the fashion house handed over complete control to the talent, so Chloe x Halle not only starred in the project, but also put together their own team (art director, stylist, photographer, videographer, etc.) and orchestrated the whole concept. Choreography, singing, creative direction, modeling—they nail it every time!

Specifically, the pair are the new faces of Fendi’s “Peekaboo” bag, which is a structured style that comes in various styles and features a long strap. Here they are casually bringing their bags to the dinner table. (Side note: I now have a sudden urge to shop for vintage crystal glasses?)

In a Q&A, they said the video for the campaign was inspired by the song “Busy Boy” off of their new album Ungodly Hour. “With the playful lyrics, we wanted to mix dreamy scenery to complement the song and the playfulness of the peekaboo bag,” they said. “Filming content during quarantine is so much fun because it allows you to be extra creative, and in this case we got to shoot every scene from home in our backyard.”

They released their sophomore album in June and since performed at the BET Awards, which was broadcasted online this year. In the middle of promoting their new music, they’ve also been vocal about their support of the Black Lives Matter movement. In an interview with Vogue, Chloe said:

I am very happy and grateful that the world is finally paying attention to this underlying racism that has been going on for years and years, and I’m hopeful that change will finally happen. Just my sister and I going out there and creating in a male-dominated industry, and letting our voices be heard, we’re standing for all Black women and our brothers. Just being ourselves and letting them know that you can do anything you put your mind to.

And I think I speak for all of us when I say we can’t wait to see what they do next.
