Dorchester Collection’s Italy and France hotels have officially reopened. All of the European hotels are all reopening with heightened health and safety measures in place and have retained all staff, so guests can feel confident that they will be well looked after by familiar faces when staying with Dorchester Collection. Additionally, all the hotels are offering an “Ultimate Staycation” package through the rest of the year complete with flexible check in and daily breakfast.
Hotel Plaza Athenee (Paris) – Reopened September 1
A Parisian grande dame hotel, Hotel Plaza Athenee reopens with a completely updated 7th floor designed by world interior designers and architects Bruno Moinard and Claire Claire Bétaille, the team behind the 2011 revamp of Hotel Plaza Athenee’s public spaces.
While the hotel’s doors have been closed, general manager François Delahaye and his team have implemented new safety measures, to ensure that guests can feel confident upon returning to their Paris home.
Le Meurice (Paris) – Reopened September 1
The palace hotel in the heart of historic Paris, across the road from the Tuileries Garden, Le Meurice recently unveiled 29 newly renovated suites, designed by a young couple from Interior Design Studio, Lally and Berger. The idea was to evoke the feeling of contemporary Versailles, with the highlight being the Belle Etoile Suite. This Penthouse outdoor garden terrace offers the best 360-degree city views, overlooking the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Musée d’Orsay The Roue de Paris and Sacré Coeur.

This September, Maison Valmont at Le Meurice officially opens. An elegant beauty boutique and spa, Maison Valmont pour Le Meurice is the Swiss beauty brand’s only Parisian store and spa. La Boutique will live on the ground floor of the hotel and is a full “beauty laboratory,” where Valmont skincare and fragrances are available. Upstairs at Le Spa, Valmont has curated a special menu of facials and massages.
Hotel Principe di Savoia (Milan) – Reopened August 31
Hotel Principe di Savoia “celebrates the stylish spirit of the Italian fashion and design capital.” General manager Ezio Indiani and his team have been working these past few months to ensure that guests can feel well looked-after while staying at the hotel. The “Ultimate Staycation” at Hotel Principe di Savoia includes flexible check-in and daily breakfast at Acanto Restaurant. Nearby is Giardini Indro Montanelli, Milan’s sprawling historic gardens just steps from the hotel.
Hotel Eden (Rome) – Reopened September 1
Located high above Rome is Hotel Eden, just steps from Villa Borghese. The hotel reopens with a reduced room count to allow for each guest to have more space. Bonus: The airy suites are elevated by high ceilings and tall windows. Additionally, Hotel Eden has created a new lunch offering, UNICO, a three-course traditionally Roman lunch served Bento-box style that changes weekly.
